S.Sasha Jazayeri; M.D. (Dr Jaz.)
Dr. Jazayeri earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of California, San Diego in 1994, and his M.D. degree from St Georges University School of Medicine in 1999. He finished a residency in family medicine, in 2002, at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey before completing his Dermatology Fellowship training at Advanced Dermatology Center in San Diego, California, and subsequently in Phoenix, Arizona in 2005. Since then, Dr. Jazayeri has been practicing medical and surgical dermatology at his Payson and Phoenix offices, focusing on skin cancer detection and surgeries using Mohs technique.
Dr. Jazayeri has maintained a very active professional life, dividing up his time between private practice, conducting research studies, volunteer work, attending specialty meetings and giving lectures on various dermatological topics to his fellow physicians.
He is the former clinical director at the Physicians Skin Institute in Scottsdale. He is also the former clinical instructor and lecturer at the National Laser Institute where he taught cosmetic procedures such as Botox and Restylane and lectured on skin conditions to doctors and nurses.
Dr Jazayeri is actively involved in research studies and a major portion of his practice is devoted to conducting clinical trials. He is the Principal Investigator in several notable national and international research studies on psoriasis and dermatitis. It is his sincere belief that these research studies are essential in helping understand these skin conditions and in finding better treatments and ultimately cure in the future.
Dr Jazayeri routinely conducts free skin cancer screenings. The American Academy of Dermatology has previously recognized him for his contributions as a physician participant in the free Melanoma and Skin Cancer Screening Programs.
He has also volunteered his expertise with the Red Cross in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he treated patients in need. He has had interviews on line and in the newspaper, as well as television appearances including one on CBS Evening News to educate the general public on the danger and risk of excessive sun exposure.
Dr Jazayeri will continue to offer the most effective surgical and medical dermatologic therapies to his valued patients in a compassionate way.
